I) Climate Action 100+ is the world’s largest investor engagement initiative on climate change. It involves 700 investors, responsible for over $68 trillion in assets under management.
II) The coalition recently announced its “phase 2” requirements which require signatories to increase transparency over corporate voting policies (such as having to disclose reasons for board members voting a certain way), prepare escalation measures in case of non-attainment of climate goals etc.
III) Shortly post the launch of the Phase II requirements, some of the world's largest money managers like JPMorgan, Statestreet left the alliance while BlackRock scaled back its membership.
